Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski has already announced his intention to run for a fifth term in office when next year’s elections roll around. But this week on WBAA’s Ask The Mayor, we ponder whether the increasingly nasty tone of this year’s races is causing him to think about what may be a more bruising political climate when he runs next.

Also on this week’s show, the city plans to study the Columbian Park neighborhood, which adjoins the Five Points area that’s slated for renovation. The mayor has said he hopes to build a corridor along Main Street heading southeast from downtown, but what happens if the neighborhoods along the way need different kinds of help and updating?

We ask those questions, as well as the one on many people’s minds: when will the busiest intersection in the county finally reopen?
