A national retailer specializing in outdoor gear and apparel is opening a new store in Lafayette.
Gander Mountain is moving into the Pavilions shopping center on Creasy Lane at State Road 26.
Remodeling is underway at the 50,000 square foot space that once housed Sportsman’s Warehouse. That outdoor retailer closed the Lafayette store in 2009.
The new Gander Mountain is one of seven the Saint Paul-based company is opening this year. The Lafayette location is set to debut this fall. Other Indiana locations include Indianapolis, Gary and Terre Haute.
Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski says it will be a welcome addition to the area’s retail options.
“Gander Mountain coming to Lafayette is another win for our community and the entire region."
