Indy to San Francisco nonstop service begins in 2014

The Indianapolis International Airport will begin offering nonstop service to San Francisco next year.

The United Airlines flight is scheduled to leave Indy each morning at 8 a.m. A flight back from San Francisco will return just before 9 p.m. each night.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation will provide United with a minimum revenue guarantee during the term of the one year agreement. IEDC has set aside $1.5 million in reserve funds to provide that.

The flights begin January 7, 2014. The news follows the airport’s announcement earlier this summer that Delta is considering weekly nonstop flights to Jamaica and the Bahamas in December.
