The American Revolution in West Lafayette
The American Revolution in West Lafayette
Please join us in the Maple and Elm Rooms on November 22nd for a special program in partnership with Tippecanoe County America 250, the General de Lafayette Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and WFYI PBS Indianapolis, which will explore themes of civic roles, understanding American history, as well as offering a place for community members to reflect on their American heritage together.
To begin, we will offer some light snacks and connect you with some activities designed to get you thinking about topics such as citizenship and civic duty. At 4 PM, we will watch a screener portion of a new documentary film by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt called An American Revolution. Afterward, Dr. Cole Jones, a Revolutionary War and Colonial scholar from Purdue University, will lead a question-and-answer session reflecting on what was learned in the film.
This program is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
