New Community School seals deal for new location

A local charter school has a new home.

New Community School expects to relocate from downtown Lafayette to the former Pay Less Super Market on Elmwood Avenue July 1st.

The building is being purchased by Indianapolis-based Keystone Construction Group for a little more than $1-million.

The company has entered an 18-year lease purchase agreement with New Community School.

School officials have been working on the deal for three years.

Keystone will begin remodeling the 52,000 square foot facility this fall.

School officials plan to use the former CVS space on Elmwood Avenue as a meeting and recreation facility until the gym within the Pay Less building is completed.
