Purdue is learning about faculty needs from COACHE survey

Purdue administrators are closely examining responses from faculty members who responded to the Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) survey on issues in the workplace.

There are two questionnaires, one for tenure-track faculty and one for those who have tenure. It covers such things as nature of work, mentoring, and campus climate/culture.

COACHE Director Kiernan Mathews told WBAA last October that the report shows how each university scored in various areas of concern among faculty, and how it compares with peer institutions. He said more than 70 universities and colleges are taking part in the survey, including Purdue.

A majority of universities in the Big Ten already are members of COACHE, as well as Notre Dame and Ball State.

You can see the presentation from the October 11 Purdue Board of Trustees Academic Affairs Committee meeting HERE.
