An annual event to feed the hungry locally and abroad is set for this weekend in Lafayette.
Hunger Hike 2013 raises money for Food Finders Food Bank, the St. Thomas Aquinas Haiti ministry, and Lafayette Urban Ministry.
LUM executive director Joe Micon says after five years of slow economic recovery, there are still too many people who are struggling.
He says the goal is to surpass one-thousand walkers and raise at least $90,000 for local hunger relief efforts.
Check-in for the Hunger Hike starts at 12:30 Sunday at Riehle Plaza in downtown Lafayette.
