The lockdown at some Lafayette-area schools is being lifted.
The safety measure was enacted after the Lafayette Crisis Center reported a male subject claimed to have a gun and was intending to enter an unspecified area school.
Lafayette police asked schools to lockdowns as a precautionary measure as there was no specific known threat.
Lafayette, West Lafayette, and Tippecanoe School corporations complied with the request.
The lockdown has since been lifted by TSC for schools scheduled to release at 2:30.
All other TSC schools remain on lockdown.
Police are asking the public to not call schools or police unless you have specific info on this threat.
