President Obama this week signed into law the Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for American Veterans act. Indiana Congresswoman Jackie Walorski says it will support programs that help veterans returning from a war zone transition back into society.

"Being able to really identify the community services that are closest to where people live," says Walorski. "You know, any time you take a large bureaucracy and try to whittle it down, it's very, very difficult sometimes for those monies to be driven in to local districts and local communities. But this actually has a provision  that makes the partnerships and the bridges much more easily available into communities."

Clay Hunt earned a Purple Heart in Iraq and fought the Taliban in Afghanistan.

He took his own life at the age of 28, while struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder.
