Indiana’s unemployment rate ended 2015 by remaining stable at 4.4-percent, according to a year-end jobs report.
The state’s private sector made no ground in adding jobs last month.
The Hoosier State’s unemployment rate remained unchanged for four consecutive months to end the year, holding steady at 4.4-percent since September.
That’s a 1.5-percent drop from the start of 2015. Indiana’s private sector neither added nor lost any jobs in December: gains in trade, transportation and utilities and construction sectors were offset by significant manufacturing losses – 3,400 jobs.
The private sector added more than 50,000 jobs over the year – that’s in the top third of the country for growth.
