Wabash Township Trustee Hopes To Move Case Outside Tippecanoe County

In her first court appearance since being indicted for twenty counts of theft by a grand jury earlier this month, Wabash Township Trustee Jennifer Teising wants a change of venue for the case.

Tensing's Attorney, Karen Celestino-Horseman, said she will be making a request to move the case outside the county.

Celestino-Horseman declined to comment on the reason for the request, saying it would be “inappropriate” for her to do so.

Teising is accused of taking her trustee salary while not residing in Wabash Township. Each count of theft is for a salary payment she received between June of 2020 and March of 2021.

Teising has acknowledged traveling outside of the township during that period in her RV, but maintains that she kept a residence within the township during that period.

She has said she is “disgusted” by the indictments, which she sees as politically motivated.
