Paul Shaffer has spent decades making music as a fixture in the late-night firmament, first on “Saturday Night Live” and then as David Letterman’s musical director.

Now he’s released “Paul Shaffer & The World’s Most Dangerous Band,” a new album featuring many of his longtime Letterman band collaborators.

The band is currently touring the United States, and Shaffer (@paulshaffer) joins Here & Now‘s Robin Young to talk about his music career past and present.
