My name is Laolu Adeyo and I'm a senior at Purdue University. Here at WBAA, I am an Intern working on the design, development and marketing of the new student-focused WBAA mobile app. Working here has given me a huge challenge and also the opportunity to develop important practical skills in programming, design, and marketing which I believe will be very helpful to me in the future. More importantly, WBAA has given me a chance to oversee every aspect of this project from start to finish and actively encourages me to implement my ideas. In the future I would like to work with digital media and this experience has been a great step that direction!

I’m Sylvia, a Lafayette native currently attending the University of Missouri in Columbia, where I’m studying documentary journalism. I grew up listening to WBAA and as a journalist-in-training, I consistently listen to NPR both at home and at school. I’m thrilled to be interning this summer and learning the ropes of public radio — coordinating the weekly newsletter, working in audio post production, and more. Before working at WBAA, I was an on-air announcer for 4 years at WJEF, student-run radio from Jefferson High School, and currently KCOU, the radio branch of student-run media at Mizzou. Being an intern at a local news source has only reaffirmed my beliefs in the importance of journalism at all levels and I am truly excited to be a part of it! When I’m not engaged in journalistic pursuits, I work as a barista at Java Roaster and enjoy spending time outdoors with my friends, family, and my dog.

Bassist extraordinaire, composer, arranger, educator, curator and administrator, Christian McBride, has been one of the most important and most omnipresent figures in the jazz world for 20 years. Sometimes hard to believe considering this man just entered his 40's.

Jennifer Weingart is a reporter and All Things Considered host. She holds a degree in broadcasting and journalism from Central Michigan University, prior work experience from WCMU in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. and WDET in Detroit. She likes stories that involve passionate people doing awesome things. Her work is heard on WVPE, the Michigan Public Radio Network, Indiana's regional journalism cooperative and a few times on NPR.

Carrie Brownstein is a writer, musician, actor, dog trainer and blogger for NPR Music. She was a member of the critically acclaimed rock band Sleater-Kinney. Brownstein writes NPR Music's "Monitor Mix" blog, and is a contributor to All Songs Considered. Her writing has also appeared in The New York Times, The Believer, Pitchfork.com and numerous book anthologies on music and culture.

Matt has been a reporter at KUT off and on since 2006. He came to Austin from Boston, then went back for a while--but couldn't stand to be away--so he came back to Austin. Matt grew up in Maine (but hates lobster), and while it might sound hard to believe, he thinks Maine and Texas are remarkably similar.

Joanna Richards came to the Innovation Trail from Louisville, Kentucky, where she worked as an assistant editor for the NPR series This I Believe and as a staff writer for local arts and entertainment weekly Velocity.

Oscar Villalon is book editor at the San Francisco Chronicle. A member of the board of directors of the National Book Critics Circle, he's also a long-time juror of the California Book Awards, sponsored by the Commonwealth Club. His writing has appeared in the Virginia Quarterly Review and The Believer, and his reviews have aired on KQED's The California Report. He lives with his wife and son in San Francisco.

Trey Graham edits and produces arts and entertainment content for NPR's Digital Media division, where among other things he's helped launch the Monkey See pop-culture blog and NPR's expanded Web-only movies coverage. He also helps manage the Web presence for Fresh Air from WHYY.

Mike Moen is the Morning Edition producer and serves as a staff reporter for WNIJ. Every morning, he works with Dan Klefstad to bring listeners the latest Illinois news. He also works with the rest of the news staff on developing and producing in-depth stories. Mike is a Minnesota native who likes movies, history, and baseball. When most people hear his last name, they assume he is 100-percent Scandinavian. But, believe it or not, he is mostly German.
