Gonzalez grew up near Chicago and came to Nashville after three years reporting and editing at Virginia's smallest daily newspaper, The News Virginian.

I have lived in Indiana all my life, coming from the small towns to our northwest. I grew up surrounded by corn and bean fields, one traffic light towns and the slower pace of life! I am a country girl at heart and enjoy repurposing antiques, of which some would refer to as junk, into my own form of art. Jamala has been with KUOW since July 2004. She graduated from The Evergreen State college in Washington, where she focused on film, video and media studies. After several years working in video production, she began to pursue radio while working for the University of Washington's television station,UWTV. After a short stint as a volunteer radio host atKBCSpublic radio in Bellevue, she took the position of Broadcaster at the Evergreen Radio Reading Service, a radio reading service for the blind.

Joe Corcoran has been WKU Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” host and news anchor since 2003. Joe’s received numerous awards for his on-air work including the Associated Press’s “Best Radio News Anchor in Kentucky” twice. Several of his stories have aired on NPR’s “All Things Considered”.
