Indiana is seeing a boom in manufacturing job creation – outpacing most of the country. And even more jobs will open up as baby boomers retire.

Many businesses are working harder to fill those jobs with military veterans, like 57-year-old Tim Turner.

Right now, he shares a house on a quiet street northwest of downtown Indianapolis with two other formerly homeless veterans.

Indiana Appoints New Women Veterans Coordinator

Indiana lawmakers recently established a new position to address concerns specifically facing the state’s 35,000 female veterans.

Laura McKee assumed her role as Women Veterans Coordinator at the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs about a month ago.

A report commissioned by the legislature to investigate whether the state should fund alternative therapies for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries was released last week.

The panel, which consisted of representatives from the state Department of Health and the Department of Veterans Affairs, declined to recommend the three therapies they were investigating- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Cognitive Rehabilitation, and Resource Facilitation.
