Otis Armstrong selected to College Football HOF

A former Purdue running back is heading to the College Football Hall of Fame.

Otis Armstrong was named to the 2012 class.

During his time in West Lafayette, he earned consensus All-American honors and was the Big Ten Most Valuable Player in 1972.

Armstrong also scored 24 touchdowns, ran for 3,315 yards, and holds a school record with 670 rushing attempts.

He becomes the ninth Boilermaker player to be named to the college Hall of Fame.

After his career at Purdue, he spent eight seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos and won the league rushing title in 1974.

The official induction ceremony will be held December 4th in New York.
