TCPL offering new mobile app options

Downloading music, movies, and books is now easier with Tippecanoe County Public Library’s newly created mobile apps.

Cardholders can access important information on their iPads, phones, or laptops from three different programs. Overdrive, BookMyne, and the library website's mobile version give greater access to its holdings.

Head Technology Director Neal Starkey says library staff members testing out the new mobile apps like the interactive features. He says the trend of libraries buying digital books is on the rise, because the price is the same to both the consumer and library.

The shift from digital copy to print will not cost taxpayers more, because there's no price difference between traditional and electronic versions.
