BSides LSO Flute Ensemble 3/8 Preview

"B Side" is the flip side of a vinyl record containing rare, less mainstream track(s). The Lafayette Symphony calls their 3-concert series the "B-Sides" - an informal, intimate, and unconventional program in a nightclub setting. This Thursday, a range of music from Renaissance to Rock is on tap by the LSO mixed flute ensemble, led by piccolo player Laura Recendez.

WBAA John Clare spoke with Executive Director Sara Mummey about the concert.

Learn more here. Doors at Carnahan Hall open at 6:30 pm for audience members to come in, get comfortable, and enjoy a cocktail at the cash bar before the music begins at 7:30 pm. All ages are welcome at The B-Side.

John Nasukaluk Clare is comfortable behind a microphone, streaming video or playing violin. A former broadcaster for NPR, John has previously worked with Voice of America, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and stations in Texas, Kansas, Nevada, California, and Pennsylvania. In 2005, Clare earned the Deems Taylor Award from ASCAP for radio broadcasting, citing his work on 20/20 Hearing. Having performed with famed tenors Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, John has worked with the Mozart Festival Texas, Mid Texas Symphony, Nevada Chamber Symphony, Shreveport Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic and Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
