Dulcimer Gathering (Local Live)

Dulcimer Gathering (Local Live)
The Dulcimer Gathering is a loosely organized group of mountain and hammered dulcimer players who have been playing together since 1985. They gather together to enjoy the music, learn new songs and share their music with others. Players of all levels are welcome to join them. During the cooler months from September to May they meet indoors at the Fresh Thyme Market in West Lafayette to learn new songs and techniques, and just enjoy playing together. They also occasionally play at nursing and retirement homes and at other venues. In the warmer months of June through August they meet weekly in an outdoor venue and welcome other acoustical instrument players to join them. They often have listeners bring a chair and enjoy the evening while they play their favorite pieces. Over the years they have played at Fort Ouiatenon, on the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge, in Riehle Plaza, and at Centennial and Happy Hollow Parks. They are currently meeting at Cumberland Park on North Salisbury Street in West Lafayette. Check the schedule to learn more. Their gatherings are fun, casual jams. Bring your dulcimer, or other instrument, and come join them!
