Tippecanoe County’s COVID-19 cases held steady at 45 Monday, while statewide cases advanced to 8,236.

The Indiana State Department of Health also reported 350 Hoosier deaths from the novel coronavirus, and 44,539 tests have been reported to the agency.

The Newton County Health Department announced Monday 21 residents at a long-term care facility had been diagnosed with COVID-19. As of Monday, 27 total cases had been confirmed in the county, and one death.

“The health department, in conjunction with the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), is providing response guidance, testing, infection control, and personal protective equipment in accordance with facility needs and ISDH guidelines,” the Newton County Health Department said in a statement. “The health department will continue to assist the facility as response efforts are ongoing.”

ISDH’s updates now include data on ventilator and intensive care unit availability; on Monday, 44% of Indiana’s 2,960 ICU beds were still open, and 73% of the state’s supply of 2,872 ventilators were available for use.
