Some of the renovations planned for the office of the president in Purdue’s Hovde Hall will be stopped. The change comes after President-elect Mitch Daniels found out about the $380,000 project.
Daniels says he did not know about the work before it started and asked that it be stopped.
A university spokesperson says much of the work already has been completed. That includes deep cleaning, new carpet squares and lighting through three offices, the reception area, a common conference room and a support staff area.
Some of the renovation and rehabilitation work has been on the planning books since the 1980s.
