Lindblom donates $25K to Food Finders program

A major league baseball player and Harrison High School grad is lending a helping hand to a local food pantry.

Josh Lindblom presented a check for $25,000 to Food Finders Food Bank in Lafayette this morning.

The money will benefit the organization’s Backpack Program, which provides nutritious food on the weekends to 3,800 area school children.

Lindblom says he chose to support the effort after spending time with some of the kids who benefit from it.

Food Finders Director of Community Relations Kier Crites says the donation comes at a crucial time.

She says the Backpack Program was in danger of having to reduce the amount of children it serves due to lack of funding.

Food Finders works with more than 150 non-profit organizations in Tippecanoe and 15 other counties.
