September is Hunger Action Month.
Food Finders Food Bank will be sponsoring a series of events over the next four weeks to bring awareness to the issue of food insecurity in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties.
The non-profit is partnering with CityBus today to collect non-perishable food items and household supplies.
Food Finders director of development Cheryl Precious says an empty bus will be parked outside Riehle Plaza Wednesday, beginning at 7 a.m. She says the goal is to “Stuff the Bus” with donations by 7 p.m.
Precious says the most needed items include 100% fruit juices, boxed rice and potatoes, cereal, soup, and pasta sauce.
She says Food Finders also collects laundry products, paper goods and personal care items.
