Some Lafayette-area schools are on lockdown after the Lafayette Crisis Center reported a male subject claimed to have a gun and was intending to enter an unspecified area school.
Lafayette police say the lockdowns are precautionary in nature and there is no specific known threat.
Lafayette, West Lafayette, and Tippecanoe School corporations have complied with the lockdown request.
Police are asking the public to not call schools or police unless you have specific info on this threat.
