Food Finders helping area hungry meet challenges of winter

A local non-profit continues to expand its efforts to feed the area’s hungry.

Food Finders Food Bank is using funding from The Josh Lindblom Foundation to continue its mobile food pantry stops in 2014.

Program coordinator Kristine Jansen says extreme winter weather means higher heating costs which, in turn, means a much tighter budget for most families.

She says the first-ever indoor mobile food pantry is set for Monday at the Lafayette Adult Resource Academy.

Plans for future stops are still in the works.

Jansen says no proof of income is needed to receive food from the mobile pantry.
