The Putnamville Correctional Facility is returning to normal operations one week after the facility was closed to visitors due to an outbreak of the H-1-N-1 influenza.

The facility was off limits last week after one offender died and 35 inmates were sickened by the flu.

Administrators said visitation schedules resumed on Tuesday and offenders are once again allowed to participate in job and program assignments.

One offender remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Five others are exhibiting symptoms and are under medical observation at the correctional facility.
