Tippecanoe County Health Department

Tippecanoe County has passed a COVID-19 testing positivity benchmark, activating a county health department order now set to take effect Tuesday.

The Indiana State Department of Health reported a 10.2% seven day all-tests positivity rate for the county Saturday. This week, the Tippecanoe County Health Department issued a health order with new capacity restrictions scheduled to begin if the county met or exceeded a rate of 10%.

Starting Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 12:01 a.m., the following county restrictions are in place:

-Indoor capacity for restaurants is at 50%, and indoor capacity for bars is at 25%. Outdoor capacity is at 100%, with six feet of social distancing required.
-Capacity for retail businesses is at 75%.
-Capacity for “cultural, entertainment, and tourism venues”, gyms and fitness centers, and senior day centers is at 50%.

The restrictions will be lifted if the all-tests positivity rate is below 10% for 14 days.

The Indiana State Department of Health reported 251 additional coronavirus cases and 2 deaths in Tippecanoe County Saturday. ISDH also added 6,983 cases to Indiana’s statewide total, and 40 deaths. 3,168 hospitalizations were reported.
