The Tippecanoe County Health Department announced a third county resident with a presumptive positive case of COVID-19 Monday.

According to a statement, the resident has not traveled recently and is isolating at their home.

Department administrator Khala Hochstedler said the health department could not comment on whether the case was that of a Purdue student. They will not be releasing additional information about the patient.

The first county resident was diagnosed with COVID-19 while in Florida, a state now reporting 75 cases among non-Florida residents. The second resident was diagnosed after returning from travel to Paris.

The Indiana State Department of Health reported seven Hoosiers had died from COVID-19 as of Monday afternoon. Governor Eric Holcomb announced a “stay-at-home” order Monday from midnight on March 24 through April 7, an effort to slow the novel coronavirus outbreak in the state.
