On Thursday, September 26th, Anna Ridler visits Purdue Galleries to speak about her art. The artist and researcher has exhibited at Ars Electronica, Impakt and the Barbican Centre, Ridler has earned degrees from the Royal College of Art, Oxford University and University of Arts London. She answered some questions for WBAA's John Clare recently about Dreaming, Automated at Ringel Gallery.

Monday, August 19th marks the opening of Ringel Gallery in Stewart Center with "Dreaming, Automated: Deep Learning, Data Sets, and Decay." The exhibit features artsist Anna Ridler and runs through September 27th. WBAA's John Clare spoke with Erika Kvam about the show.

Purdue Galleries

Purdue Galleries invited three artists to find inspiration in Purdue’s Barron Hilton Flight and Space Exploration Archives.  Their challenge was to bring art, engineering, and science together to imagine new horizons informed by archival documents and artifacts contained in the Neil A. Armstrong Papers and the papers of other astronauts and engineers. This exhibition is a collaboration with Purdue University Libraries’ Archives and Special Collections. WBAA's John Clare spoke with Erika Kwam, Visitor Services & Program Coordinator about the exhibit that opens Monday, March 25th in the Ringel Gallery.

The Guerrilla Girls speak this Thursday at Purdue University. They are feminist activist artists who for over thirty years, have worn gorilla masks and used facts, humor, and outrageous visuals to expose gender and ethnic bias, as well as corruption in politics, art, film, and pop culture. Their motto or tagline is "Guerrilla Girls could be anyone because they are everywhere."

WBAA's John Clare spoke with "Frida Kahlo," a member who has been with Guerrilla Girls from the start.

A first for Purdue undergraduate students studying art and design, the Art and Design annual juried show is in the Robert L. Ringel Gallery inside Stewart Center.  The exhibit will be open February 26 through March 9. WBAA's John Clare spoke to Director of Purdue Galleries Liz Erlewine about the show.
