Tippecanoe County’s reported COVID-19 cases rose to 42 Friday, and the Indiana State Department of Health announced 300 deaths statewide from the novel coronavirus.

ISDH also reported 6,907 COVID-19 cases Friday, and 35,040 tests have been reported to the agency.

Tippecanoe County Health Officer Dr. Jeremy Adler said Wednesday the local COVID-19 case surge is anticipated on or after April 16, in line with state models.

Cases continued to tick upward in Clinton County, now reporting 11 cases of COVID-19 and one death; 20 cases have been confirmed in Montgomery County.

Gov. Eric Holcomb urged Hoosiers to exercise extra caution over the coming Easter weekend, as plans for “drive-in” church services circulate.
