Tippecanoe County’s COVID-19 case count rose to 90 Monday, and the Indiana State Department of Health reported 844 Hoosier deaths from the novel coronavirus.
ISDH also reported 15,961 confirmed novel coronavirus cases statewide.
In Cass County, where a Tyson Foods plant in Logansport was shut down last week after workers there tested positive for the coronavirus, ISDH reported 1,025 confirmed cases and 1,462 COVID-19 tests. Logansport Mayor Chris Martin declared a local disaster emergency Monday in response to the outbreak, placing restrictions around entry into the city’s retail establishments and restaurants.
Cass County now ranks third in the state for confirmed COVID-19 cases. Marion County ranked first among Indiana’s 92 counties with 4,926 reported cases Monday, and Lake County followed with 1,586 cases.
