The Indiana State Department of Health added 288 confirmed COVID-19 cases for Tippecanoe County in its Friday update, coming within one case of the county’s highest one-day reported total of 289 cases on Nov. 13.

ISDH also reported one additional county coronavirus death; 36 people have now died from COVID-19 in Tippecanoe County.

The county’s seven-day all-tests positivity rate rose to 10.1% Friday, after a string of days in which that number remained below the 10% benchmark set by the Tippecanoe County Health Department for local capacity restrictions.

This week, Tippecanoe County Health Officer Dr. Jeremy Adler said local case numbers could continue to rise after the Thanksgiving holiday.

ISDH also added 8,003 cases and 84 deaths to Indiana’s statewide total Friday.
