Tippecanoe School Corporation is planning to work with a greater budget in 2013 than its current version.
The district is advertising a spending plan of about $122-million, but Chief Financial Officer Kim Fox projects the final amount to be closer to $117-million.
If approved, she says that will be a roughly $5-million increase from this year.
“We're going to have more full day K money available, our tuition support formula again favors TSC bringing us up to foundation level in 2013," she said. "We've added about five-million dollars to our general fund. That's the basic difference.”
Fox says the tax levy will go up slightly from $1.04 cents per $100 assessed value to about $1.06.
She says that is due to a state funding miscalculation.
The TSC Board is expected to adopt the 2013 budget at its September 12th meeting.
