The Tippecanoe School Corporation is making contingency plans for Southwestern Middle and Mintonye Elementary school students to continue classes as soon as possible.
Spokesperson Sue Scott says the extent of the damage to the buildings likely means they will be closed until the end of the semester at least.
She says TSC officials appreciate the community support and offers to help rebuild.
Scott says at this time the buildings are considered unsafe.
She says until the buildings are deemed safe, only authorized personnel will be allowed on site.
Scott says Dayton Elementary, Woodland Elementary and Wainwright Middle Schools are all still without electricity.
She says TSC will be in session tomorrow if power is restored to those buildings, with the exception of Southwestern and Mintonye.
