Democrat drops out of District 4 Congressional race

Democrat Tara Nelson has decided not to run against incumbent Todd Rokita for Indiana’s District 4 congressional seat.

Nelson issued a statement yesterday announcing her decision to step out of the race “because of personal and family reasons.”

In the 2012 election, Nelson received 34% of the vote to Rokita's 62%.

That leaves John Dale of West Lafayette as the only Democrat in the race.

He has been a U.S. history and government teacher at Western Boone High School for 24 years and a wrestling coach for 20 years, and has raised four children in Tippecanoe County.
