Elkhart County Prosecutor Curtis Hill Announces Attorney General Run

Curtis Hill
Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for Elkhart County

Elkhart County prosecutor Curtis Hill will vie to become the state’s next attorney general. The Republican announced his candidacy Monday in downtown Indianapolis.

Hill says like incumbent Greg Zoeller (who will run for Congress instead of for another term as AG), he’ll stand up to many of the objectives and regulations sent down from Washington.

“From my office, we will work to properly balance the interests of the state of Indiana with the interests of the federal government, always recognizing that the constitutional authority of our state to exercise our own independent judgement must never be trampled by the ever-growing Washington bureaucracy,” Hill says.

And Hill says he will protect Hoosiers from what he calls the “ravages of violent crime.”

“Through the broad authority of my office, I will defend the rights of property ownership,” Hill says. “And work to protect the consumer, the young, the old, the weak and the less fortunate from victimization of scams, fraud and online predatory attacks.”

Hill is in his fourth term as Elkhart County prosecutor. The state Republican Party convention will select its candidate for Attorney General in June.
