Lemonade Day teaches basics of running a business

The third annual Lemonade Day is set for May 18th.

The event, coordinated by Greater Lafayette Commerce, gives young people a chance to learn what it’s like to run a small business.

Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski says all types of skills are put to use to operate a successful lemonade stand—including math, reading, and science.

He says stands can be set up in the city’s public parks.

Registration is open to young people in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

There will be awards for Best Tasting Lemonade, Best Lemonade Stand, and Most Successful Business.
