The Indiana State Department of Health reported seven new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Tippecanoe County in their Saturday update. The county case tally now stands at 71.
ISDH announced 44 additional deaths from the novel coronavirus across Indiana; Indiana COVID-19 deaths now total 785. The department also reported 14,395 confirmed cases statewide.
In Cass County, where a Tyson Foods pork processing plant was shut down this week after workers there tested positive for the coronavirus, 315 cases were reported Saturday, with 297 reported tests. One death has been reported.
State officials pushed an expected statewide surge timeline to early May, with an earlier exception for Indianapolis. ISDH reported 4,727 Marion County cases Saturday.
Gov. Eric Holcomb’s current stay-at-home order ends May 1. Holcomb said Friday he would continue to evaluate the terms of the order, and assess COVID-19 spread in neighboring states and counties.
