Tippecanoe Count COVID-19 Cases At 225 Saturday

Tippecanoe County’s COVID-19 case count rose to 225 Saturday, a daily increase of 20 new cases, and the Indiana State Department of Health reported 1,362 deaths statewide from the novel coronavirus.

ISDH also reported 606 new COVID-19 cases in Indiana, for a total of 23,732.

A third COVID-19 death was reported in Montgomery County Saturday, along with 125 positive cases. Tippecanoe County COVID-19 deaths remain at two. 

This week, the state opened new coronavirus testing sites in partnership with OptumServe Health Services across the state, including in Lafayette. ISDH reported a total of 135,686 COVID-19 tests in its Saturday update, with 3,348 conducted in Tippecanoe County. 

Indiana State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box urged Hoosiers this week to continue best practices for mitigating the spread of the virus: washing hands, avoiding large groups of people, and wearing masks.
