State releases school performance grades

Indiana’s grading system for student performance released its marks.

West Lafayette continues to perform well with all three of its schools earning an ‘A’ grade.

Lafayette School Corporation is seeing improvement.  Six of the district’s ten schools received the highest mark, which is two more than last year. Sunnyside Middle School earned a ‘B,’ up from a ‘D’ in 2011.

The only school in LSC that saw a drop was Tecumseh Middle School, which went from a ‘C’ to a ‘D.’

Seven of the 19 schools in the Tippecanoe School Corporation earned ‘A’s,’ including Harrison High, East Tipp Middle, and Klondike Middle schools that improved from a ‘C’ in 2011.

But, four schools also lost their top ranking.  Battle Ground Middle and Elementary, Wainwright, and Dayton all fell from an A last year to C’s this year.

Statewide, 61-percent of schools earned either an A or B grade.
