The second show of the Red Barn Summer Theatre’s 58th season will be the thriller “Wait Until Dark,” by Fredrick Knott, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, and sponsored by Zachary Confections of Frankfort. “Wait Until Dark”, based on the classic suspense film starring Audrey Hepburn, opens on Wednesday, June 24th, and will run Wednesdays through Sundays for two weeks. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m., except for Sunday matinees, which start at 2:00 p.m.
In 1944, in Greenwich Village, Susan Hendrix, a blind yet capable woman, is imperiled by a pair of men in her own apartment. As the climax builds, Susan discovers that her blindness might be the key to her escape, but she and her tormentors must wait until dark to play out the chilling conclusion of this classic thriller. This new adaptation modernizes the brilliant tension of Knott’s original play and builds on the 1967 film starring Audrey Hepburn.

Donors and patrons often stop Michael and Luke on the lot and ask when we will move away from comedy and farce and do a show with a little more grit. It's been several seasons since we've done a murder mystery, and we've heard your feedback; for those clamoring for a thriller, enter WAIT UNTIL DARK! We look forward to thrilling our audiences with this daring tale of an unexpected victim who outthinks and outmaneuvers her captors. Zachary Confections is the sponsor for our WAIT UNTIL DARK.

Get ready for a fun and hands-on afternoon at Wright Rock Creek Nature Reserve exploring the hidden life of our local waterways! Warren County SWCD and NICHES Land Trust are teaming up for a Creek Stomp where we’ll dive into the world of stream and river health.
NICHES will kick things off by sharing updates on their stewardship efforts and the work they’re doing to protect natural areas across the region. Then we’ll head into the creek to search for macroinvertebrates—tiny but mighty creatures that help us understand the overall health of our streams and rivers. Their presence (or absence!) tells us a lot about water quality, habitat conditions, and how well our ecosystems are functioning.
What to Bring:Water shoes, bug spray, suncreen, water and a snack.

Join NICHES Land Trust for a guided Mindfulness Hike at Cranberry Marsh on Sunday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m. As we explore the beauty of this wetland habitat, we’ll reflect on the powerful role wetlands play in naturally cleansing and protecting our environment.
Dr. Jessica Outcalt, Natural Resources Training Specialist at Purdue University, will join the hike to help identify birds and talk about their relationship to wetlands.
Through quiet observation and mindful walking, participants will connect with nature while learning how these unique ecosystems filter water, support wildlife, and sustain healthy landscapes.
Advanced registration is preferred. Click the link to sign up.
