May 19 Tuesday
The Turkey Buzzards pay us a visit Tuesday May 19th, 2026 at People's Brewing in Lafayette, INDoors 5PM | Music 6PM | 21+Presented by Mom&Pop Productions
"Much like the duo themselves, the songs range near and far. From the sticky humidity of North Carolina to the dusty cellars of the West, The Turkey Buzzards tell simplistic stories that unravel through gritty vocals and thoughtful harmonies. The carefully crafted guitar riffs set against a solid bone bass stretch out across an American landscape with enough depth to sink well beneath the skin."Dylan Nicholson (Greensboro, NC) and Eric Patterson (Lodi, CA) formed the The Turkey Buzzards in Morro Bay, CA and have shared stages with John R. Miller, Robert Earl Keen, Jeffery Martin, The Deslondes, Dawes, White Buffalo, Brothers Comatose, and frequently join Willy Tea Taylor as members of The Fellership.
ACORN Players would like to announce our 2026 youth summer camp, Stepsisters, directed by Beth Simpson!
Everybody knows the Brothers Grimm's most famous fairy tale. But what if they told it from the wrong point of view? "Stepsisters" tells the totally-true-not-at-all-made-up version of the little cinder girl. When Drew and Beth are thrown into the dungeon for conspiring against the throne, these stepsisters, who are not wicked, evil, and certainly not ugly, are forced to tell their fellow prisoners the real story of what happened with Cinderella.
Registration is due by May 18th and is open to middle school and high school students including 2026 graduates. All students are guaranteed a role but must audition for their role. Auditions will be held from 6-8pm on May 19 OR 20 and if needed, callback auditions will be held on May 21. The fee includes a 21 day camp: June 1-27, M-F (plus one Saturday), 12 noon to 5pm (hours extended on performance days).
We believe this should be accessible. If affordability is a concern, please contact us to explore available assistance at acornplayerslaf@gmail.com
